My website's F.A.Q

I used Wix's dedicated FAQ section creator to assisst in making my FAQ look stylish and professional. I created questions and provided answers to those questions to ease the stress of people trying to contact support with simple questions. This is what my finished FAQ looks like.

F.A.Q's

Including an FAQ section on a website can help customers quickly find answers to common questions and can save them time from having to contact customer support. It's a useful tool for any online business to have. Here are FAQ examples of two of my competitors: On the ASOS website, the FAQ section is organized into different categories, such as "Orders & Delivery" and "Returns & Refunds." Each category contains a list of questions that customers might have, such as "Where is my order?" or "What is your return policy?" Clicking on a question will reveal the answer, which is often written in a clear and easy-to-understand format. Meanwhile, the Pact website has an FAQ section that is organized into categories like "Ordering" and "Returns & Exchanges." Each category contains a list of questions with answers that are written in a conversational tone. The questions cover a range of topics, such as "H...

Contact form of my website

The Contact Us page is important because it lets customers get in touch with a business quickly and easily. This page includes links to the company's social media profiles, an email address, and a phone number with the international code, so anyone on the planet can call. Customers can also use a contact form to input their name, last name, email, and questions or problems they may have. Social media links are also included to engage with customers and keep them up-to-date on new products and promotions. A well-designed Contact Us page helps build trust with customers and makes it easier for them to get the support they need.

Analysing Asos and Pact product pages

ASOS and Pact are two sustainable fashion e-commerce websites that sell different types of clothing. ASOS's product pages have detailed information about the product, including high-quality images, product features, materials, care instructions, and related products.    Pact's product pages are simpler, with a focus on the material and sustainability aspect of the product, including an image, material information, and care instructions. Both companies provide options to select different sizes and colors, and add products to the shopping cart. Overall, both ASOS and Pact have created effective product pages that provide customers with the information they need to make informed purchases.

About Pages research of ASOS and Pact.

As I plan a fashion website that focuses on environmental impact and ethical business practices I took a closer look at about pages of two sites with similar values. The first one is ASOS, a UK-based online fashion and beauty retailer that aims to empower 20-somethings to look and feel their best while promoting diversity, inclusion, and sustainability. They have a dedicated page called "Fashion with Integrity" that provides more detailed information on their sustainability and ethical practices. The second company is Pact, a US-based online retailer that specializes in sustainable and ethically made clothing. They use only organic cotton and other sustainable materials, as well as fair labor practices, and have various certifications like GOTS and Fair Trade. Pact's brand story emphasizes their goal of creating a more sustainable and equitable fashion industry.

Website research

I plan on making a B2C online fashion website that focuses on sustainable and affordable clothing. The website offers a range of clothing and accessory options, made from environmentally friendly materials and produced in fair labor conditions. Similar websites to this include PACT, and ASOS.  ASOS and Pact Clothing stores both focus on different aspects of the 4 P's of marketing. ASOS primarily focuses on the Promotion aspect of the marketing mix. They heavily invest in advertising and social media marketing to create brand awareness and promote their products. They use influencers, celebrity endorsements, and social media campaigns to reach out to their target audience. On the other hand, Pact Clothing store primarily focuses on the Product aspect of the marketing mix. They specialize in creating sustainable and ethically produced clothing. They use eco-friendly fabrics and production methods and ensure fair labor practices. Their product offering is designed to appeal ...

Types of e-commerce.

E-commerce has several types: Business to Consumer (B2C): This is when a business sells its products or services directly to individual customers. Amazon is an example of this. Business to Business (B2B): This is when a business sells its products or services to other businesses instead of individual customers. Alibaba specialises in such commerce. Consumer to Consumer (C2C): This is when individual customers buy and sell products or services to each other. Most notable site of such type is Ebay. Government to Citizen (G2C): This is when the government provides services or information to individual citizens like you, for example, getting a passport or paying taxes. Gov.uk as an example. Mobile Commerce (m-commerce): This is when people buy and sell things using their mobile devices like smartphones or tablets, for example, buying clothes or ordering food using an app on your phone.

Meta tag analysis of John Lewis website

Meta tags are snippets of code that provide information about a webpage to search engines. They are not visible to users on the webpage itself but can provide important information about the content of the page to search engines (Alimohammadi, 2005). On the homepage of John Lewis, a UK department store, there are several meta tags. These include: Title tag: provides the title of the webpage that appears in the search engine results. Description tag: provides a brief summary of the content of the webpage that appears in the search engine results. Canonical tag: indicates the preferred URL for a webpage to avoid duplicate content issues. Robots tag: tells search engine crawlers whether to index the page and follow its links. Author tag: identifies the author of the webpage. Keywords tag: provides a list of keywords related to the content of the webpage, but it's not as important as it once was. Overall, meta tags help search engines understand what a webpage is about, which can imp...

Comparison of two e-commerce websites

ASOS's homepage is colorful and trendy, with personalized recommendations and a variety of categories. However, it can be overwhelming, with too much information and a cluttered layout. Adidas's homepage is sleek and minimalistic, with a focus on new releases and best sellers. The navigation is intuitive and easy to use, but it lacks personalized recommendations and customization options. Both websites could benefit from simplifying their design and improving the user experience.

Advantages and disadvantages of e-commerce

E-commerce is by no means perfect business solution, it has pros and cons: Advantages:  Convenience: Allows customers to shop anytime, anywhere. (Yang et al., 2010)  Greater Product Variety: E-commerce websites can offer a wider range of products. (Niranjanamurthy et al., 2013)  Cost Savings: E-commerce businesses can save on rent, utilities, and other costs. (Niranjanamurthy et al., 2013)  Personalization: E-commerce websites can personalize the shopping experience. (Yang et al., 2010) Disadvantages:  Lack of Personal Interaction: Customers cannot physically interact with products or receive personal assistance. (Yang et al., 2010) Security Concerns: E-commerce transactions can be vulnerable to security breaches and fraud. (Niranjanamurthy et al., 2013) Dependence on Technology: E-commerce businesses rely heavily on technology. (Yang et al., 2010)  Shipping Delays: Customers may have to wait longer for their products to arrive. (Niranjanamurthy e...

SEO definition

SEO, or search engine optimization, refers to the practice of improving the visibility and ranking of a website or web page in search engine results pages. This involves optimizing various elements of a website, including its content, structure, and coding, in order to increase its relevance and authority in the eyes of search engines like Google. Who invented WWW

The World Wide Web (WWW) was invented by Sir Tim Berners-Lee in 1989 while he was working at CERN, the European physics research center in Switzerland. Berners-Lee's goal was to create a way for scientists to easily share and access information from anywhere in the world, and he developed the technology for the WWW while working on a project to manage CERN's vast amount of data. With the help of his colleague, Robert Cailliau, Berners-Lee developed the first web browser and server, and he released the first website in 1991. References: Gillies, J., & Cailliau, R. (2000). Webpage design and programming language

Here are some of the common computing definitions: Cookies are small text files that are stored on a user's computer or mobile device when they visit a website. They are designed to hold a small amount of data that can be retrieved by the website or a third-party server (Park, 2000).  User interface (UI) refers to the visual, interactive, and functional elements of a software application, website, or other digital product that enable users to interact with it. A well-designed UI should be intuitive and easy to use, enabling users to navigate the product and perform tasks with minimal effort and without confusion (Kay, 1990). Page source refers to the underlying code of a web page, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It can be viewed by users to inspect and modify the code of a web page, and is interpreted by web browsers to display the content of a website (Conesa-Fuentes, et. al., 2013). Meta tags are snippets of code that provide information about a web page, but are not display...

E- commerce definition

E-commerce, or electronic commerce, refers to buying and selling products or services online. It involves using the internet to conduct business transactions, such as browsing and purchasing items from an online store. E-commerce has become increasingly popular in recent years, providing convenient and accessible ways for people to shop and conduct business.   References:  Zhang, X. (2022). B2C E-Commerce Logistics Network Optimization Model. Journal of Global Information Management, 30(3), 57-75.

Website project initial idea

My idea is to create an online clothing and accessory outlet using the Wix website builder that specializes in sustainable fashion made with ethically sourced materials. The website will aim to promote eco-consciousness and offer a range of products that align with the values of sustainability and ethical production. It will feature user-friendly navigation, engaging visuals, and informative content about the products and their environmental and ethical impact.

Advantages and disadvantages of meta tags

Meta tags have advantages, including improving search engine visibility and providing a summary of webpage content. However, some search engines may not use them, they have been abused by spammers, and misuse can lead to negative consequences. To overcome these disadvantages, it's important to focus on high-quality content, use other SEO methods, regularly update meta tags to make content stand out in search results (Alimohammadi, 2005). 4 P's of marketing

The 4 Ps of marketing are the basic elements that businesses use to sell their products or services. They are Product, Price, Place, and Promotion. Product is what you're selling, Price is how much you're selling it for, Place is where you're selling it, and Promotion is how you're letting people know about it. By considering all of these elements, businesses can create an effective marketing strategy and sell their products or services successfully. For my sustainable fashion brand, the most relevant Ps of the marketing mix are promotion and price. It is crucial to use digital marketing tools to promote the sustainability aspect of the products and reach out to environmentally conscious consumers. Pricing can be higher than conventional fashion products, but it is essential to be competitive and transparent about the pricing strategy. By focusing on promotion and price, a sustainable fashion brand can establish itself as a unique and environmentally conscious opt...

Alt Tags and Title Tags in HTML

Alt tags and title tags are extra information for images or hyperlinks on a website. Alt tags describe an image for visually impaired users or when it can't be displayed. Title tags create a pop-up text when the user hovers over a hyperlink. Using relevant and unique alt and title tags can improve a website's SEO, making it more accessible and increasing its relevance in search engine results (Muehlbradt and Kane, 2022).   Both of them bring different benefits to the SEO of my website. Alt tags help search engines understand image content and improve user experience, while title tags improve the accuracy and relevance of hyperlinks (Muehlbradt and Kane, 2022).     References:   Muehlbradt, A. and Kane, S.K., 2022. What's in an ALT Tag? Exploring Caption Content Priorities through Collaborative Captioning. ACM Transactions on Accessible Computing (TACCESS) , 15 (1), pp.1-32.

Databases, primary and foreign keys.

According to Oppel (2011), database is like a big digital file cabinet that stores information that can be easily accessed, managed, and updated. It helps organize data and makes it easier to find and use. Importand part of databases is establishing relationships between data, thats where primary and foreign keys come in: A primary key is a unique code for each record in a table, helping to identify and work with it easily. A foreign key is a code that links one table to another. It's usually a field in one table that matches the primary key in another table, ensuring that data is consistent between them. They ensure that information is consistent across different parts of the database, which is important for making sure everything works smoothly. For example, in a customer database, each customer might have a unique ID number, and that number would be used to connect all of the information about that customer together. Overall, databases and keys help people manage inf...

ERD definition

According to Li and Chen (2009), ERD is a diagram that shows how different things in a database relate to each other. These terms are related to ERD: Entities are the things being modeled, like customers or products.  Attributes are the characteristics of an entity, like its name or size.  Cardinalities show how many of one thing are related to another, like one-to-many or many-to-many.  Relationships show how entities are connected, and can be one-to-one, one-to-many, or many-to-many. ERDs are helpful for designing and building a database that meets the needs of a business or organization. References:  Li, Q. and Chen, Y.L., 2009. Entity-relationship diagram. Reasearching SDLC

SDLC is a process that guides software development (Radack, 2009). It has stages like planning, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance. SDLC helps the development team manage the software development process effectively, control risks, and ensure high-quality software. During the development of a sustainable fashion e-commerce website, I followed the SDLC process. I identified the scope, set objectives, gathered requirements, analyzed user needs, created a project plan, designed the website, tested it, and will provide ongoing support to users. By following SDLC, I can ensure a high-quality sustainable fashion e-commerce website that meets the user's needs. References: Radack, S., 2009.
